Summary

The Industrial Engineering Intern will support the engineering and production teams by optimizing systems, processes, and workflows to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency while reducing costs and waste. This role provides hands-on experience in an engineering environment and offers exposure to real-world technical challenges, industry tools, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Process Optimization: Analyze and improve manufacturing processes, production schedules, and workflows to increase efficiency. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other departments to support ongoing projects. Document existing manufacturing processes, focusing on identifying improvement opportunities.

Data Analysis & Studies: Conduct time studies, labor utilization analysis, and process mapping to identify bottlenecks

Quality Control: Enforce quality standards and develop procedures to minimize waste and defects.

Facility Layout Design: Design, evaluate, and optimize facility layouts, equipment placement, and material handling systems.

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial)

  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and analytical problem‑solving.

  • Familiarity with relevant tools/software such as CAD programs, MATLAB, Python, Excel, or engineering-specific applications.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills (Optional)

  • Experience with hands-on projects, lab work, or engineering competitions.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes or prototyping.

  • Exposure to project management tools or documentation practices.
