The organization AmbaFlex has four production units worldwide that produce the conveying systems for AmbaFlex. Production Unit Canton is one of four and was established in 2010. Withing the Production Unit in Canton is the Internal Fabrication Department. The Internal Fabrication Department is responsible for producing raw, semi-finished and finished goods to support the operations of the other production departments within AmbaFlex Canton, Oh. This includes cutting, forming, welding, machining and blasting of metal parts. "

Job description

Operate the CNC laser cutting machine and support the production team by assembling parts, operating machinery, bending, punching or sawing of metal products as instructed by supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the CNC CO2 Laser (Prima Power Platino 1530 w/4kW Convergent Laser)

• Understands machine setup including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials

• Understands start-up and shut down for laser machines

• Diagnose machining problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed

• Operate overhead cranes, tape measure, calipers, and hand tools

•  Can perform laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively, per specifications

• Check Quality of product machined and notify supervisor of process issues

• Operates and navigates in a windows-based computer environment

• Can program nesting software to maximize product/material usage

• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

• Perform operator maintenance and/or 5S housekeeping per established schedules

• Perform material handling functions, including loading material for job runs

• Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance

• Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances

• Maintain shop, tools, and other equipment

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position as a CNC Laser Operator (Prima Power)

• Minimum 1 year of CNC Laser experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment

• Documented training on CNC Laser

• Proficient interpreting of engineering drawings

• Familiar with various production and processing methods in engineering

• Prior forklift experience is preferred

• Must be able to lift 70+ lbs., stand on feet for 8 or more hours

• CNC press brake experience is preferred

Requirements
